La nascita della collezione Millennial 💜

The Birth of the Millennial Collection 💜

Dear friends,

Today I created the very first dolls of my new collection!
I waited a while before working on these characters because, honestly, they were just too hard for me.

I had made them in the past, but this time I wanted to make them much smaller and more wearable—and until recently, that just seemed impossible.
Why was it so difficult?
Every time I tried to focus and shrink the subject down, my eyes would get tired and I’d stop, convinced I just couldn’t do it.

But the truth was something else entirely… tadaaaannn… drum roll, please… brace yourselves for the revelation:

I WAS BECOMING PRESBYOPIC. 😅

As a lifelong myopic, the idea never even crossed my mind. I thought I could somehow “compensate” with my nearsightedness (please note the confidence and the ignorance).
Well, turns out that’s not how it works. We myopics do become presbyopic too—it’s just that for a while, our myopia hides it, so we can still see up close by simply taking off our glasses.
Of course, at some point that trick will stop working (the presbyopia may overtake the myopia), and I’ll have to get bifocal lenses… but that’s not the point.

The point is: once I took off my glasses, something magical happened. I finally managed to make the tiny, detailed dolls exactly as I wanted them.
Sure, now I can’t really watch TV while I work, but hey—you can’t have it all.

And what could a 42-year-old woman who still plays with dolls possibly create? (quote!)
👉 The MILLENNIAL Collection!

Little dolls inspired by the cartoons we grew up with—the ones that made us dream, that still make us hum their theme songs today.
Those were the days, weren’t they? 💫

My friends, today I made Creamy and Magical Emi, but of course the collection will keep growing. I’ll follow my inspiration and the first character that pops into my mind.

So… any suggestions? Do you like the idea?
I’ll be publishing them soon!

Stay tuned!
